Welcome graphic

This site is dedicated to pharologists everywhere
I have a special interest because for 13 wonderful years I was a Lighthouse keeper and was appointed to 4 lighthouses but served in 5 as a supernumerary keeper. A spare man.
I am also an author and poet and illiustrate life as a keeper and other lighhouse related topics.
You can become a member just by visiting the site, asking questions, posting your views or contributing information about lighthouses or keepers.
Together we can bring lighthouses to the fore and by doing so help preserve them, we can also help keep alive the memory of the keepers who once served in them.

My Hobbies

I write poetry and am working on a collection of lighthouse poems. I have also written and published my memoirs in the book Star of the Four Kingdoms. When I get the chance I like to fly on the computer with a flight simulator.

The Mull of Galloway has a visitor center and a museum and is open to the public from Easter to the end of October. It has a cliff top cafe and parking facilities which makes it an ideal visitor attraction, more so when it is Scotland's most southerly point. Check out their website
